Mind Body Matters offers courses and events with the intention to help people deal with life in a positive and healthy way to promote overall physical and mental wellbeing.
The programmes are rooted in the mind-body training of yoga and mindfulness and informed by the latest neuroscience and psychology on mental health and wellbeing.
Since 2015, Mind Body Matters has run over 50 courses, reaching over 4000 students, and working with over 20 different schools and organisations.
Mind Body Matters offers programmes for schools about mental health, wellbeing, stress-reduction and the benefits of mindfulness.
From a one-off assembly to an 8-week course, we can tailor our programmes to suit the specific needs of your students and staff.
Our programmes can be integrated into the classroom as part of the school’s social, emotional and wellbeing curriculum, or be included as part of the extra-curricular programme.
We also offer professional development for teachers on how mindfulness can be integrated into the classroom to enhance teaching and learning, and also promote more balance and wellbeing as a teacher.
Our mindfulness course introduces the students to the benefits and explores the methods of the practice. Students will experience a range of techniques whilst being taught the philosophy and science behind mindfulness.
This course is aimed at ages 14 - 18. It will explore the impact of stress on wellbeing and develop a tool kit of stress-reduction techniques that support self-care in young people.

This course is designed to introduce teachers to mindfulness in education and explores how to bring mindfulness into the classroom to support pedagogy, classroom management and the wellbeing of both staff and students.
This course introduces practical and effective stress-reduction and self-care practices for staff based on the principles of yoga and mindfulness.

Mindfulness is being used widely across many areas including education, healthcare, as well as in workplace settings.
Research into the use of the practice in these fields all suggest the positive impact of mindfulness on wellbeing, relationships and performance. Many large companies, such as Apple and Google, have therefore embraced mindfulness due to its benefits.
The benefits of mindfulness include: improved communication, reduced stress and anxiety, improved morale and increased focus, productivity, creativity.
Alexa will introduce the participants to the background and benefits of mindfulness, explore mindfulness practices to support both personal and professional life and talk about the importance of stress-reduction, self-care and wellbeing on both personal and professional life.
The course incorporates a combination of presentation, active discussion and practice.
Alexa is also available to speak in schools, businesses or events about stress reduction and the benefits of mindfulness, meditation and breathing to help in overall wellbeing.
From custom made workshops to speaking at events, Alexa’s presentations can be from one hour to a full day and tailored to suit your organisation’s specific needs.
Alexa also offers private classes both online and in-person. Her classes offer mind-body training integrating physical and mental components of yoga and mindfulness through the teaching of physical yoga postures (asanas), pranayama (breathing exercise), meditation and relaxation.
Yoga is for all, and Alexa strives to make her classes accessible for everyone to experience the benefits. She offers yoga classes for children, adults, individuals with special needs and pregnancy yoga.
Mind Body Matters can also run wellbeing retreats for private groups, schools and businesses.
These retreats will integrate mindfulness, yoga, nature connection and compassion-based practices in a beautiful setting to rejuvenate and restore the body and mind.
