I thought I’d share this quote from a talk about attunement with Gabor Mate that resonated with me. It was a good personal reminder of the influence our state of being has on those around us and the co-regulatory power we have to support others.

When we are disconnected or don’t feel grounded, we are less present in our relationships with others. And conversely, when we are consciously present and connected, we offer an unspoken but powerful support to those around us.

For me, my practice is an essential element to my relationships and equally my relationships are a daily practice too. Taking time in your day to practice can sometimes be perceived as ‘selfish’, as we are taking ourselves away from those around us, but it is equally a great gift as we return in a more present, open and connected state.
